Conscious Connected Breathwork

Conscious connected breathwork is a psychotherapeutic process that activates the nervous system to help unveil and lift unprocessed emotion and trauma from the body at a cellular level. It is a powerful and safe way to increase oxygen and energy within the body, allowing our own systems to work to their healing capacity.

Breathwork involves breathing in a pattern known as 'Conscious Connected Breathing' to enter a deeply relaxed state, where you can bypass your ego mind and access a deeper level of consciousness and examine deeply held experiences in your body.

Tuning into our breath impacts our wellbeing, and CCB provides the opportunity to access higher levels of consciousness, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live our lives joyfully and in abundance.

Breathwork Session

What to bring

Yoga Mat, Pillow or Bolster Eye Mask or Eye Pillow, Blanket, Water, Journal/Pen, Lip Balm

What to wear

Comfortable, loose-fitting, breathable clothes. Layers are recommended.

Session length

Breath work sessions are 60 minutes in length. Approximately 30 min is active breathing followed by a release and a meditation.

Emotional sensations

Breathwork activates your flight or fight response which can bring stuck emotions to the surface. This means you may experience a variety of emotions throughout the session such as sadness, anger, frustration, peace or joy. These emotions can manifest in tears or a big cry.

Body sensations

As your body takes in more oxygen than it is used to it can activate sensations that may feel strange to you. This can include muscle cramping (tetany), lightheadedness, tingling in limbs, and temperature fluctuations. Additionally, this may be the body’s way of moving through stuck emotions stored in the body. Know that these are not permanent and will subside in the second portion of the session.

Mental experiences

Breathwork allows you to bypass your ego and step into your unconscious mind. This means you can enter altered states of consciousness bringing forth memories, pictures, and potentially create a new inner dialogue.
